How to Prevent Neck Pain While Working at Your Desk

While working at a computer desk may seem harmless, without the right setup and adequate breaks throughout your day, you could be doing more harm than you think.

Here are some simple tips to help you prevent neck pain while working at your desk:

1. Keep Your Lighting in Front of Your Computer Screen

This helps to reduce glare and strain on your eyes, decreasing the need to lean in towards your screen.

2. Maintain an Ergonomic Setup

Your screen should be at eye level, reducing the need to hunch your shoulders. Your mouse, keyboard, and all other essential items should be within arm's length to reduce the need to stretch for them. When sitting in your chair, your feet should be touching the ground to ensure proper posture.

3. Take Frequent Breaks

You want to get up and move around every 20-30 minutes. Small stretches can help ease any tension in your upper back and neck, and give your eyes a break from the screen.
